Visited with a friend on a Thursday evening. Was greeted kindly and able to take a seat and chat for a couple of hours. It was the perfect location, perfect crowd, perfect staff. Highly recommend if you’re in the area!
Portobello Road is the best known street market in the world- with good reason! Dating back to the 19th Century, this is one of the oldest markets in London, renowned for it’s great antique stalls- a magic melting pot of fab antique dealers, artists and musicians alike. A true London landmark, this is definitely a place to visit!
Planning to visit the market? Pay us a visit as we’re right on it’s doorstep!
The market’s main trading day is on Saturdays- from 9am to 7pm. Arrive early, pop into the Duke of Wellington for a delicious breakfast pie and coffee and explore the market in style- you won’t regret it! The market also trades between Mondays and Fridays- Fridays being it’s second busiest day.
There are no stalls on Sundays, but fear you not! If you love antiques, you’ll be happy to know that all the beautiful antiques shops are still open. Perfect for exploring- followed by one of our mouth-watering roasts!
I walked in the door to be welcomed by lovely staff who recommended a wine that was bang on at the end of a hard day. I chose a quiet corner, put my feet up and relaxed …… for an hour at least.
I ordered a cheese board and another wine. The cheese board was incredible…… very simple – lovely chutney, 3 delicious cheeses – plenty of it!! Yes, plenty. And delicious seeded crackers, once again, plenty. Just wonderful. Fantastic staff, very helpful and a chef who is open to customer requests. Well done to you all Duke of Wellington staff and management.
Fabulous service. Excellent beverages!
Absolutely faultless what an experience we had xmas dinner food was 10/10 so was the service and staff. Thanks for a great xmas!!!
We visited this place with family after being recommended it a while ago and were so glad we did! Great atmosphere with funky decor, friendly staff and lovely food! They have an extensive food and drinks menu and as I’m one of those people who can never choose what to eat I happily took the recommendation from our server and had the fish and chips which was very nice. All in all we had a lovely lunch in a really nice pub.
